GLOBALG.A.P. was established in 1997 as an initiative of a group of supermarkets and retailers in Europe, grouped under EUREPG.A.P. This group sought to consolidate the various standards of Good Agricultural Practices in the world in a general standard that would assure high quality suppliers.

This standard was first named EUREPG.A.P. In oder successfully expand it globally; the name was later changed to GLOBALG.A.P.

GLOBALG.A.P. is a “business-to-business (B2B)” certification, connecting suppliers with traders, distributors and supermarkets through a certificate of conformity.

LETIS is accredited to certify GLOBALG.AP in fruits and vegetables and crops in bulk.
